blakes Half-marathon

 

Starting time and location

The Blakes Half-marathon starts on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge at 10:30 am . To get to the starting line, we recommend  you take the "METRO (underground subway train system) from the closest METRO station near you, and exit at the  "Parc Jean-Drapeau"  station which is on the yellow line. As you exit the underground station,  to outside, please follow directions and signs, to the start area on the bridge. * Please allow a 15 minute walk from the Parc Jean-Drapeau  METRO-subway  station to get to the starting line on the bridge!

 

Is it possible to walk the half-marathon?

Yes. Even though not an official walking division in the half-marathon (21km / 13.1 miles) many participants do register for this popular event. The half-marathon walkers start just behind the runners and they have a 4:00 hour TIME LIMIT to complete the course. The nordic walkers are allow to participate * take the start at the back, with the regular walkers.

What will participants receive?

 All entrants in the Marathon will receive a medal, the official technical shirt, a  light lunch at the finish line as well as a personalized certificate, available from our website a few weeks after the event.

 

Marathon-Expo: When and where to pick-up your runner's kit:

All runners must pick up their kit (race number which includes the timing chip, and t-shirt) at the Marathon-Expo. Visit the Marathon-Expo  section on our website for details.

 

Arrival/ Finish Line at Parc Maisonneuve

The Parc Maisonneuve will be the finish line for all participants. All runners and walkers are invited to the rest and refreshment area,  where a complimentary light lunch will be offered, by the Oasis Montreal Marathon. For details, click here.

Time limit

Time limit to complete the 21km  (13.1 mile half marathon) is 4 hours.
 

Bag Check

At the Expo-Marathon-Expo you will receive a plastic bag to place any personal items/clothing that you may want after the race ( to keep yourself warm and dry).  This bag check service will take your bag and deliver it to the finish line area for you, where you can retrieve it after the race until 3:30pm. The actual bag check site will be near the Jacques-Cartier Bridge where you will see yellow school buses. It will operate from 8:00 am to 10:15 am for the half-marathon participants. Remember to get there early, to avoid last minute stress.
