P'tit Marathon Radio-Canada (1 km)

Created by the Oasis Montreal Marathon with support from Premiers Pas Québec, a non-profit organization, the P’tit Marathon Radio Canada is a 1K race intended for children ages 3 to 11, but parents may also participate!

Date, start time and location:

The “P’tit Marathon Radio-Canada” starts at  8:30 am on Sunday September 25th, 2011 (**The championship starts 1 min before, at 8h29). The start area is located at the corner of Viau and des Mélèzes. We suggest you take the subway metro, and stop at Viau station on the green line. The streets in this area will be closed to traffic, to secure roads and the course for the other activities/events part of the Oasis Montreal Marathon.

SAFETY FIRST!

 The Oasis Montreal Marathon offers the P’tit Marathon Radio-Canada 1km a fully secure, safe, area for registered children and parents. It is imperative that all children remain within the course limits, from start to finish of the P’tit Marathon Radio-Canada 1km.

 

Arrival/ Finish Line at Parc Maisonneuve

The Parc Maisonneuve will be the finish line for all participants. All runners and walkers are invited to the rest and refreshment area,  where a complimentary light lunch will be offered, by the Oasis Montreal Marathon. For details, click here.

 In addition to  the 3 official medals (gold, silver and bronze), we have ALSO added age category prizes. Please refer to the « Prizes» section of our website for all details.  

 

Expo-Marathon: When and where to obain your "Little Runner's" kit

(race number which includes the timing chip and t-shirt)

Once the registration process is complete, you will receive a confirmation by mail or by email. Participants must pick up their runner’s kit at the Expo-Marathon.  It is mandatory for all participants (parents and children) to be registered and to wear their number to take part in the race and to have access to the course. The electronic chip included in the bib number will be used to record the run time precisely. Due to volume, Runner's kits will NOT be distributed the morning of the race. All participant must pick their kit at the Expo-Marathon (Place Bonaventure).

 

What will each participant receive?

As a way to celebrate the runners’ participation in such a grand event, kids will receive a medal and all participants will receive an official Oasis Montreal Marathon tech-shirt, a light lunch at the arrival and a personalized certificate with their running time (printable from our website),   a few weeks after the event.  

You will receive an electronic timing "chip"  in each runner's packet to record the time precisely. Make sure  the chip is returned at the end of the run.  Participants who do not return the chip will be assessed a $40 fee. If you accidentally leave with your chip, or pick up your kid's packet and not attend the event, please return the chip in a packaged "bubble" envelope to:

Also, as a bonus for the children, all activities in  the Parc Maisonneuve  (such as access to inflatable structures, clowns, make-up artists, and games) are free.
