
This is a quick note to inform you that the former Marathon Oasis de Montréal will still be operated by the local Montréal team that has produced the historic and successful event for the past 21 years. The team is working together with Competitor Group, Inc. to enhance the 2012 event with music, entertainment and exciting Rock ‘n’ Roll series elements while continuing to maintain the integrity of the race. Thank you for your patience as we transition the websites and prepare to open the 2012 registration for the Oasis Marathon & ½ Marathon de Montréal, part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series.


It’s official! Competitor Group, Inc (CGI) and the Marathon Oasis de Montréal have announced a partnership agreement for the Montréal Marathon to become part of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series in 2012. Popular for live bands performing and entertainment at every mile along the course, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series is held in 27 major cities around the world including Los Angeles, Madrid, Chicago, Philadelphia and Seattle. Canada’s first Rock ‘n’ Roll Series event will take place in Montreal on Sunday, September 23, 2012.

Luka Kipkemboi Chelimo of Kenya captured the elite men's division title of the 21st Montreal Oasis Marathon Sunday.
The 32-year-old professional distance runner from Edoret led a Kenyan sweep of the top three finishers in the featured 42.4-kilometre event, crossing the finish line in Maisonneuve Park in a record time of two hours, 13 minutes, and 44.5 seconds.
